YELLO
  For Jonathan

There once was a dinosaur and his name was Yello. He was also colored the same as his name,...yellow. One morning he woke up and he went outside to play. He started walking and looking for something to do. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! He went as he walked along.

Pretty soon he saw, far off, a hole in the ground. So he decided to go look at it. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! He went as he walked along.

As Yello got closer, he was surprised when all of a sudden… POP! A rabbit poked his head out of the hole. “Hey, what’s going on?! Who’s making all that racket out here?!” the rabbit yelled as he rubbed his eyes. “Are you the stupid person making all the noise that woke me up?!” the rabbit yelled pointing at Yello. Yello could see the rabbit was mad. He shook his head Yes. “Well, don’t you know some rabbits are trying to sleep around here?!” the rabbit continued. Yello shook his head No. “Well, they ARE!” yelled the rabbit “So just get out of here and let me get some sleep!” Yello shook his head Yes sadly, as the rabbit disappeared back into his hole.

Yello stood there for a long time. After a while he tiptoed away quickly. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Yello decided to walk down to the river because he was thirsty. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! He went as he walked along.

Soon he came to the river. He reached down his long neck and started to drink. SLUUUUUUUURRRP! Pretty soon he had drank almost all of the water in the river.

The fishes were flopping around and one of the fishes started to yell. “Hey! What’s going on?!” Who’s drinking all the water here?!” “Are you the one who drank all the water?!” the fish yelled looking at Yello.

Yello could see the fish was mad. Again, he shook his head Yes slowly. “Well, don’t you know that some of us fish are trying to swim around here?!” the fish continued. Yello shook his head No. “Well, we ARE!” yelled the fish “so just put some of our water back, get out of here and let us swim in peace!” Yello shook his head Yes sadly, and spit a big mouthful of water back. PWIT!

He watched as the fishes swam away and then he walked away slowly. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! He went as he walked along.

Yello decided to find a tree because he was hungry. Soon he came to a large tree. He stretched his long neck way up to the leaves and started to eat. MUNCH! MUNCH! MUNCH! Pretty soon he had eaten a big hole in the tree’s leaves.

POP! A bird poked his head out of the hole. “Hey! What’s going on?!” Who’s letting all the cold air in?!” “Are you the one who ate all the leaves?!” the bird yelled looking at Yello. Yello could see the bird was mad. He shook his head Yes slowly. “Well, what are you trying to do?!” “Make us catch our death of cold?!” the bird continued. Yello shook his head No.

“Well, we ARE!” yelled the bird “so just get out of here and let us freeze in peace!”

Yello turned, hung his head sadly and walked away slowly. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! He went as he walked along.

Yello walked for a long time. He was sad. He felt he couldn’t do anything right. Pretty soon Yello could hear children laughing. He stopped and raised his head. Far away he could see children running and playing on a playground. Yello decided to walk over to them.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! He went as he walked along. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

As he walked closer, the ground started to shake. The children were falling down and couldn’t play. Some of them started to yell. Yello stopped. “Hey! What’s going on?!” Who’s causing all the shaking here?!” “Are you the one who caused us to fall down?!” a little boy asked looking at Yello. Yello shook his head Yes slowly. “Well, did you mean for us to fall down?” Yello shook his head No. “Well, do you want to play?” the boy continued, this time with a big smile. YES! YES! Yello shook his head. “Good, you can be our slide, because we don’t have one” said the boy. Yello was happy. He put down his big, long, yellow tail on the ground and all the children climbed way up on his back. The Yello put his long, long neck way down to the ground and all the children took turns sliding down! WHEEEE! WHEEEE! The children yelled as they went down the Yello slide. Yello smiled a big smile. All day long they played, until it was almost dark. The little boy came up to Yello and asked “Wanna play tomorrow?” Yello shook his head Yes! And they did. The End.
